Alliant Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Transportation Planner to join our collaborative Transportation Planning team in Minnesota.

You’ll gain hands-on experience on diverse projects while working with experienced planners and engineers to develop innovative, data-driven mobility solutions. You will collaborate with state DOTs, counties, cities, MPOs, and developers to shape the future of how people move in communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Community Development, or related field, or actively pursuing a degree.
• 0–4 years of experience in transportation planning or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, written, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with GIS (ArcGIS Pro) preferred.
• Experience creating maps, graphics, or data visualizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation planning studies, corridor plans, and mobility assessments.
• Support data collection, analysis, and visualization to evaluate trends and system performance.
• Contribute to multimodal planning projects involving pedestrians, bicyclists, transit, and roadways.
• Prepare technical reports, planning documents, maps, graphics, and presentations.
• Support public and stakeholder engagement activities and community outreach.
