Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. seeks a Graduate Civil Engineer I in Transportation for our Houston, TX location. The role focuses on roadway and highway design under supervision, offering mentorship and potential ownership opportunity.

Responsibilities include schematic design, calculations, permit prep, and coordination with surveyors and contractors, plus client and regulatory meetings. Graduates expected Dec 2026 or May 2027.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to obtain EIT within one year
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• 0-3 years of transportation design experience
• Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer
• Knowledge of roadway and drainage modules

Responsibilities

• Design civil projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Perform schematic design work
• Perform calculations and analyses
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents
• Coordinate with surveyors and contractors
• Attend client and agency meetings
