Job summary

Arup in New York is seeking a Graduate Transportation Engineer (Available 2027) to join a team delivering traffic analysis, simulation modeling, and preliminary design for transit and multimodal projects.

You should hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field, with coursework in transportation planning and engineering, and familiarity with tools such as Synchro, Vissim, AutoCAD, Python, and GIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering, or Process Engineering.
• Coursework in Transportation planning, transportation engineering, urban planning, GIS, traffic engineering, civil engineering, infrastructure design.
• Ability to use PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Synchro, HCS, Vissim, Aimsun, TransCAD, Python, R, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Traffic engineering analysis (e.g. Highway Capacity Analysis or Synchro).
• Traffic and/or pedestrian simulation modeling (e.g. Vissim, Aimsun).
• Conceptual or preliminary design of transportation facilities.

Graduate Transportation Engineer (Available 2027)

We utilize best in the industry tools for modelling, simulation, and data analysis to help problem-solve for our clients across various transportation design challenges. We actively collaborate with architects, urban designers, and technical disciplines to influence better outcomes across planning and infrastructure projects.

The opportunity

• Traffic engineering analysis (ex. Highway Capacity Analysis or Synchro)

• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.

New York Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $79,500 to $86,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
