Job summary

Arup in Seattle is seeking a Civil Engineer with fundamental knowledge and CAD experience to join our Civil Engineering team. You will design road layouts, drainage and utility systems, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable built environments.

You should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, strong communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Expect a collaborative environment and opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities

• Use Hydraulic modeling tools (Hydraflow, EPANET) to analyze water systems and flood protection.
• Research and apply codes, specifications and standards for design.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver sustainable outcomes.
• Apply understanding of planning, design and construction processes.
• Engage with stakeholders to develop designs that meet needs.
• Support development of report writing, calculation packages, and specifications.

The opportunity

• Use Civil 3D software to layout roads, drainagesystemsand utility systems as well as site grading and earthwork designs
• Use Hydraulic modeling tools such asHydraflowand EPANET to analyze and design stormwater, sanitary, potable water systems, and flood protection systems
• Research and apply codes,specificationsand standards for design of the above elements
• Coordinate with other disciplines to apply skills in delivering sustainable outcomes
• Apply understanding of all phases of the planning,designand construction process
• Research requirements of regulatory environment for gaining approval atdifferent stagesof project delivery
• Engage with project stakeholders and clients to develop designs thatmeetsneeds and concerns
• Support development of report writing, calculation packages, and specifications

Seattle Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle is $76,500 to $83,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Seattle will differ.
