Job summary

Arup in Los Angeles seeks a Graduate Project Controls intern to support the Senior Project Controls/Project Commercial Manager with financial reviews, budgets, and invoicing. You’ll gain exposure to multiple disciplines and the project lifecycle from planning to closeout.

You’ll bring a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering, strong Excel skills, and a curiosity for digital tools like Power BI and the Power Platform.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing financial systems to assist the Senior Project Controls/Project Commercial Manager in reviewing, monitoring and reporting project financial results and other performance parameters
• Assisting in preparing resource plans and schedules for projects
• Assisting with setting up job codes and budgets, and monitoring and reporting on progress
• Assisting with the collection, review and compilation of timesheets for time basis jobs
• Interfacing with the design team to track and compile engineering progress information to assist EV analysis
• Assisting with preparation of monthly client invoices.
• Compiling expense backup and assisting with preparing project expense invoices
• Assisting with tracking of Sub-contractor costs, reviewing invoices and monitoring payments
• Logging and tracking scope changes and assisting in issuing change order requests

Project, Program, and Commercial Management (PPCM) supports the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects by providing expertise across Design Management, PMO & Controls, Procurement Advisory, Program and Project Management, and Project Administration & Document Control. Our team collaborates closely with engineers, planners, commercial professionals, and clients to help deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule. We play a key role throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement to execution and closeout, ensuring effective coordination, governance, budget and schedule management, and documentation. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple disciplines, work alongside experienced professionals, and develop a broad understanding of how complex projects are delivered from concept to completion.

Is this role right for you?

Los Angeles Hiring Range - Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $76,500 to $83,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
