Job summary

The Architecture Department at the University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Graduate Student Affairs Office (GSAO) professional to support graduate programs with advising, admissions processing, and student services.

In this role you will coordinate outreach, recruitment visits, and admissions timelines, while managing program materials and collaborating with the Berkeley International Office and Graduation Division to track progress and communicate updates to students and faculty.

• Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Responsibilities

• Advising students on departmental, college, and university policies; reviewing progress and advising on degree requirements.
• Providing advice on academic experiences and progress toward major requirements.
• Reviewing and advising student petitions for exceptions to requirements.
• Advising on course possibilities to complete degree requirements.
• Interpreting campus policies and advising on student conduct and discrimination issues.
• Identifying barriers to academic success and referring to counseling or other units.
• Liaising with the Berkeley International Office and Graduation Division; running queries and degree tracking.
• Disseminating a weekly graduate student newsletter.
