The University of Utah is seeking a Program Director for the Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling. This 80% leadership role oversees accreditation, curriculum, and program administration while also providing 20% pediatric clinical genetic counseling.

Qualified candidates will have a master’s in genetic counseling, board certification, and at least five years’ experience, plus leadership and teaching credentials. Location is Salt Lake City, UT with faculty appointment in Pediatrics.

Qualifications

• Holds a master's degree in genetic counseling.
• Current board certification in genetic counseling.
• Minimum of five years of experience in genetic counseling.
• Knowledge of genetic counseling practice and profession.
• Leadership experience relevant to the role.
• Instructor of at least two college-level courses.
• Curriculum design/education training in the last 10 years.
• Ongoing continuing education credits to maintain credentials.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and facilitate all aspects of the UUGPGC.
• Prepare accreditation reports and ensure program compliance.
• Serve as course director and teach didactic courses.
• Represent the program at national meetings and conferences.
• Liaise between UUGPGC, Graduate School, School of Medicine and departments.
• Provide program leadership and long-term fiscal planning.
• Coordinate admissions, practicum training, and curricular planning.
• Provide academic advising and monitor student performance.
