Allegheny Health Network seeks a dedicated registered nurse for the 12A Telemetry Unit at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The role covers high-acuity post-surgical cardiac care with LVAD support, in a 24-bed unit offering single occupancy rooms.

The unit operates under Magnet-certified, trauma-capable hospital settings and requires active PA RN licensure and CPR certification. The position is full-time with a rotating weekend/holiday schedule and union representation.

Qualifications

• Assess patient needs and plan care using the nursing process.
• Provide safe, age-appropriate care and education.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
