Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident for the 4H Cardiac Progressive Care unit. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour day shift from 7:00am to 7:30pm.

New RN incentives include up to a $7,500 sign-on bonus and an RN loan forgiveness program; experienced RNs may receive up to $10,000 sign-on. Qualifications include graduation from a nursing program (AD, Diploma, or BSN), an active RN license, BLS certification,

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: active RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or will be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all ages.
• Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
• Work within nursing practice guidelines and Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Other: Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements:
• Stand and walk most of the time on duty.
• Meet unit-specific physical demands.
• Significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance.
• May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements.
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids.
• Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.

Physical Requirements/demands

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
