Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Part-time Staff Nurse for the Pulmonary Unit. Shifts run days, 7am–7pm, with sign-on bonus available. You will collaborate with hospital clinicians to deliver high‑quality care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, evaluating patient needs, and maintaining standards of practice within organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Georgia RN license required (state licensure or multi-state).
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Advanced certification in field of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pulmonary unit patients from admission to discharge.
• Coordinate with physicians, hospitalists, pulmonologists and respiratory therapists.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care; monitor patient status and respond to changes.

The clinical staff on the growing Pulmonary Unit work closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists and respiratory therapists to provide top-notch care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues.In the state-of-the-art new Main Tower, the Pulmonary nurse provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Pulmonary nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

• Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios
