Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited in Delta Junction, Alaska is seeking a Graduate Metallurgist to join the Pogo operation. This two-year program offers hands-on exposure to grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching and filtration.

The role provides mentorship, opportunities to work with senior engineers, and a clear path to technical expertise within a multinational mining company. Applicants should hold a relevant degree and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Metallurgy/Materials or Chemistry from an accredited institution.
• Experience working in a mill, mine or other industrial setting is well regarded.
• Excellent Excel skills and must be demonstrated.
• Current Driver’s License and ability to pass background check/post-offer physical.
• Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the graduate program activities in grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching and filtration operations.
• Spend significant time with operations, maintenance and mining departments to gain site knowledge.
• Develop technical expertise as a professional for Northern Star and the wider mining industry.
