Job summary

Arup seeks a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in Seattle to design HVAC systems for sustainable buildings, performing whole-building load and energy analyses and documenting designs in Revit MEP. You will collaborate with clients, architects and engineers to develop integrated, high-performance solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a mechanical/architectural/civil/environmental engineering degree, have energy/thermal modeling or CFD experience, and can code with Dynamo/Python/Grasshopper.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering examination; Membership in ASHRAE, USGBC, ASME.
• Coursework in Energy/thermal modeling experience, Revit or 3D modeling experience and/or sustainability.
• Advanced computational modeling (e.g., CFD).
• Computer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper).
• AutoCAD or Revit drafting skills preferred.
• Internship experience in engineering-related firm preferred

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC services within the built environment with sustainable design emphasis.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and consultants for integrated solutions.
• Perform engineering analysis and modelling including whole-building load and energy analysis.
• Document system design in Revit MEP.
• Communicate technical ideas to varied audiences via presentations and workshops.
