Job summary

GHD in Syracuse, NY invites a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our hybrid team, contributing to HVAC, plumbing and building systems design for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and gain exposure to a wide range of projects.

You'll develop drawings and specs using AutoCAD and Revit, perform calculations, support site visits, and learn building codes and sustainable design practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Interest in building systems design: HVAC, plumbing, energy, sustainability.
• Fundamentals: thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, energy systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; BIM modelling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and teamwork; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
• Support the preparation of engineering calculations, equipment selections, and design documentation.
• Develop drawings, schedules, and technical specifications using industry-standard software tools.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction support activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical and sustainable building solutions.
• Learn and apply building codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
