Job summary

IMDEX is seeking a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support across manufacturing and production operations to improve product quality, reliability, and efficiency. This role focuses on supporting the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of downhole sensors and systems used in mining and mineral exploration.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering and related fields.
• Experience with technical writing, documentation development, and process improvement.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, inspection reports, and technical specs.
• Experience inspecting electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience supporting quality investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in technical reporting and documentation.
• Proficient CAD skills and general computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently in cross-functional settings and prioritize tasks.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Investigate product performance issues and identify field failure modes.
• Analyze failure trends and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with design engineering to implement product improvements.
• Design and execute test plans to validate design changes and enhancements.
• Support prototype development and testing activities.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation on performance and testing.
• Audit manufacturing and repair documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process docs, and procedures.
• Publish and maintain controlled documentation in document management systems.
• Support rollout of capabilities to new locations and facilities.
• Facilitate training and knowledge transfer for new teams.
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and efficiency.
• Participate in quality investigations and corrective actions.
• Support QA processes for assemblies.
• Contribute to safety, quality, productivity, and reliability initiatives.
