Job summary

IMDEX seeks a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support across manufacturing and production operations, focusing on downhole sensors and systems used in mining. You will partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality to investigate issues, drive continuous improvement, and develop manufacturing documentation.

The role involves supporting manufacture, repair, and maintenance, developing site capabilities, and assisting with new location rollouts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
Experience with technical writing, documentation development, and process improvement.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, inspection reports, and technical specifications.
Experience inspecting electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Experience supporting quality investigations and root cause analysis.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in technical reporting and documentation.
Proficiency with CAD software and general computer applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

Investigate product performance issues and identify field failure modes.
Analyze failure trends and recommend corrective actions to improve product reliability and performance.
Collaborate with Design Engineering teams to develop and implement product improvements.
Design and execute test plans to validate proposed design changes and product enhancements.
Support prototype development and testing activities.
Prepare technical reports and documentation related to product performance, testing, and improvement projects.
Conduct regular audits of manufacturing and repair documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Create, update, and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and technical procedures.
Publish and maintain controlled documentation within document management systems.
Support the rollout of manufacturing and repair capabilities to new locations and facilities.
Facilitate training and knowledge transfer activities for new manufacturing and repair teams.
Work with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and operational efficiency.
Participate in quality investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities.
Support inspection and quality assurance processes for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.
Communicate effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders to support project and operational objectives.
