Job summary

Swiss Re invites graduates to join the Engineering Underwriting Analyst track as part of the Early Talent 2027 programme in the United States. You will rotate across local teams, receive tailored training, and develop a 360° understanding of underwriting in engineering and specialty reinsurance.

Your role involves assessing complex risks, supporting underwriting decisions, and collaborating with brokers and clients while gaining exposure to portfolio management and risk analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; GPA 3.0+ expected.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; strong written and verbal communication.
• No more than three years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Review risk factors for project applications across diverse industries (Infrastructure, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, etc.).
• Analyze risk information and support underwriting decisions; prepare informed policy recommendations.
• Calculate premiums based on risk and catastrophe exposure within guidelines.
• Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to develop a well-rounded underwriting view.
• Participate in client meetings, broker discussions, and cross-functional projects as experience grows.
• Support risk selection, pricing, and underwriting recommendations under guidance.
• Engage in cross-functional projects to understand the underwriting value chain end-to-end.
