Job summary

Halff in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team. You will support design and analysis of water resources projects for public and private clients, working closely with engineers and clients to deliver practical, sustainable drainage and flood risk solutions.

Ideal candidates are graduating in December 2026 or May 2027, have FE eligible, and possess CAD/Hydrology software skills; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent.
• FE exam passed or to be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• 0-3 years in water resources/public works; new grads encouraged to apply.

Graduate Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in the Woodlands, TX. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost-effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers.

What You Will Do

• Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
• Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
• Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
• Prepare and review plans, specification and bid documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.

What You Will Need

• 0-3 years in water resources/public works. Resume projects should attempt to demonstrate experience in channels design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and master drainage planning. New grads are encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
• Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
• Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
• Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
• Robust written and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success
