Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking new graduates (Dec 2026 or May 2027) for a Graduate Engineer I, Water Resources in Fort Worth, TX.

You will support water resources design and analysis, perform hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and assist in master drainage planning, reporting, and coordination with clients. The role requires 0–3 years in water resources, a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree (ABET-accredited), and FE exam completion or near-term plan.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years in water resources (new grads encouraged).
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Environmental Engineering or ABET-equivalent.
  • FE exam passed or planned within 6 months of start date.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams in design and analysis of water resources projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in development of master drainage plans.

Graduate Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Engineer I, Water Resources to join our Water Resources team in Fort Worth, TX. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost-effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers.

What you will do:
  • Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
  • Prepare and review plans, specification and bid documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
What you will need:
  • 0-3 years in water resources. Resume projects should attempt to demonstrate experience in channel design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, or master drainage planning. New grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
