Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Raleigh seeks a Graduate Enclosure Consultant to investigate the service life of building enclosure assemblies. The role involves assessing enclosure systems, performing building performance analyses, and designing repairs for existing structures. Candidates should have an M.S. in Architectural Engineering or Architecture and experience with software like AutoCAD and building performance modeling tools. This position offers diverse responsibilities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Architectural Intern track.
• Interest in building enclosure design, repair, retrofit, and high-performance buildings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager with project tasks.
• Review and organize project-related documents.
• Research building codes and industry standards.
• Write assessment reports.
• Perform field investigations, including non-destructive testing.
• Model enclosure assemblies using software.
• Analyze proposed repair/design options.
• Draft repair drawings and details.
• Prepare construction documents.
• Observe construction and quality assurance testing.
• Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes.
• Interact with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.

Skills

Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)

Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AUTOCAD, REVIT, Rhino, Grasshopper)

Building performance modeling software

Familiarity with exterior wall systems

Familiarity with roofing assemblies

Familiarity with building structural systems

Experience with suspended scaffolding and vertical heights

Education

M.S. in Architectural Engineering or Architecture
