Job summary

Unknown Upington-based engineering firm in renewable energy is seeking Graduate Electrical Engineers to join the team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for solar power projects, with hands-on experience gained under senior engineers.

You will design, run calculations, produce drawings, support procurement, and participate in site visits, commissioning, and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles, power systems, and control systems.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP) is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for solar power plants and related infrastructure.
• Conduct electrical calculations, simulations, and analysis for system performance and safety.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using relevant software.
• Support the procurement process for electrical components and equipment.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in site visits for installation supervision, commissioning, and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues encountered during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, reports, and as-built drawings.
• Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering and renewable energy technologies.
