HBK Engineering, LLC in Missoula, Montana, seeks an Electrical Distribution Associate Graduate Engineer. This entry-level role provides contract engineering resources to a local electric and gas utility, supporting capacity upgrades, system rebuilds, and relocation of utility infrastructure.

You'll design engineering systems per codes, collaborate across disciplines, manage the design lifecycle, prepare documents with DDS, GIS, and AutoCAD, and obtain permits as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering ABET-approved.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 0–4 years of experience.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utility projects per specs and codes.
• Provide creative solutions for electrical, structural, civil, and construction challenges.
• Own all phases of the design lifecycle from initiation to closeout.
• Prepare detailed engineering documents using DDS, GIS, Trimble tools, and AutoCAD.
• Analyze information from surveys, atlas data, field sketches, and datasheets.
• Independently manage time to meet milestones.
• Conduct field walkdowns with clients and partners.
• Obtain necessary permits and easements.
