Butler is seeking a Graduate Coordinator for Returning Student Communities in Indianapolis to support sophomore and junior students living off-campus housing. The role focuses on student wellbeing, retention, and a smooth transition after graduation.

The position offers a $12,000 stipend per year, 20 hours weekly, and a 10-month appointment (Aug 1–May 31), plus tuition assistance and a residential meal plan. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with college students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to diffuse and respond effectively to situations involving intense pressures and/or unpredictable persons.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs to reach a residence hall top floor in an emergency.

Responsibilities

  • Student Growth and Development – support wellbeing and retention for returning students.
  • On Call Duty Rotation – respond to emergencies and coordinate with campus resources.
  • University and Division Responsibilities – participate in meetings and events.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain records regarding student and building concerns.
  • Coordinate annual off-campus housing fair.
