Job summary

Alliant Engineering in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team. You’ll gain hands-on experience across residential, commercial, and industrial projects under licensed Professional Engineers, helping shape local communities.

You’ll assist with site layout, grading, stormwater design, and permitting, using AutoCAD Civil 3D (GEOPAK/InRoads preferred) and Office tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–4 years of experience in land development design or construction management.
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• Experience using GEOPAK or INROADS software on highway design projects preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
• Excellent technical, written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, organization, and multi-tasking.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects.
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, and documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Participate in site layout, grading, stormwater, utility design, and erosion control calculations.
• Collaborate with project engineers, planners, and team members to meet goals and timelines.
• Conduct research and analysis of data such as zoning ordinances and environmental reports.
• Assist in preparing permit applications and coordinating with local/state agencies.
• Support project documentation, coordination, and client/consultant communication.
• Participate in field visits to observe construction and ensure design compliance (if desired).

Alliant Engineering has a great opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our beautiful Jacksonville, Florida office! As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will have the ability to be a part of a cohesive Land Development Engineering team. Jump start your career by being exposed to a variety of city municipalities, and private and commercial land development experiences under the direction of a licensed and knowledgeable Professional Engineer.
