Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer - Construction to perform field quality assurance at building sites, observe and report on work, and participate in materials testing. The role requires reading drawings and specifications, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and in a team, with potential overtime.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; FE/EIT and/or ACI credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work in the field at building construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative; observe, document and report on construction work and perform materials testing.
• Inspect construction and materials for compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Work with materials including reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, spray applied proofing, soils, earth work, and foundations.
• Conduct field testing of concrete, grout, mortar, soils; non-destructive testing of welds and bolts.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Possibly work overtime to meet project needs.

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a GraduateCivil Engineer - Constructionto perform the following tasks:

Job Responsibilities:

• Working in the field at building construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative; this involves observing, documenting and reporting on the construction work and performing construction materials testing.
• Inspecting construction and materials compliance with the drawings and specifications.
• Materials include reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, spray applied proofing, soils, earth work, and foundations.
• Field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, fireproofing, soils. non-destructive testing of welds, and high strength bolting installation.
• Communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Work construction hours (which may include overtime).

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.
• Recent or upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Reliable transportation
• FE / EIT is a plus.
• ACI is a plus
• Experience working on construction projects is a plus!
• Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate technical details.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
