Job summary

Pennoni Associates seeks a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the Construction Engineering team at our King of Prussia, PA office. You will perform field QA, observe and document construction activities, and test materials to ensure compliance with drawings and specs.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a Civil Engineering degree, capable of reading plans, producing reports, and communicating technical details clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Reliable transportation.
• FE/EIT in NJ is a plus.
• NJ DCA Special Inspector certification (e.g.: Structural Steel, Masonry, Concrete) is a plus.
• Experience working on construction projects is a plus.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate technical details.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Work in the field at construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative, observing, documenting and reporting on construction work and performing construction materials testing.
• Inspect construction and materials for compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Test materials including concrete, masonry, steel, soils and foundations; perform non-destructive testing of welds and bolts.
• Communicate and coordinate with engineers, contractors and clients.
• Work construction hours, which may include overtime.
• Additional duties as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to work in our Construction Engineering team while based at our office in King of Prussia, PA office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Working in the field at building construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative; this involves observing, documenting and reporting on the construction work and performing construction materials testing.
• Inspecting construction and materials compliance with the drawings and specifications.
• Materials include reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, spray applied proofing, soils, earth work, and foundations.
• Field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, fireproofing, soils. non-destructive testing of welds, and high strength bolting installation.
• Communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Work construction hours (which may include overtime).
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.
