Pennoni is hiring a Graduate Bridge Engineer to join the Transportation Design Hub in Baltimore. You will contribute to the design and inspection of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and overhead sign structures for regional agencies.

The role requires FE/EIT, a civil engineering degree, and CAD experience; travel for inspections may be involved. This entry-level position emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Description – Graduate Bridge Engineer

Pennoni is hiring! Pennoni is looking for passionate Graduate Bridge Engineers to join our collaborative, fun team on a full time, direct basis in Pennoni’s Transportation Design Hub located in our Baltimore Camden Yards officewith experience consistent, but not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with the structural analysis and/or design of Bridges (Highway & Railroad), Culverts, Retaining Walls, and Overhead Sign Structures on a variety of projects (bridge replacement/rehabilitation, highway improvement, etc.); this includes multi-disciplinary projects for MDSHA, MDTA, DDOT, DelDOT, PennDOT, VDOT and other agencies/bridge owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
• Perform NBIS Bridge inspections in Maryland as well as the surrounding states (with occasional opportunities for domestic travel).
• Produce high-quality technical writing for use in bridge inspection reports, specifications, studies, and other engineering documents.
• Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Required Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (e.g.: Structural Engineering, etc.).
• FE / EIT Required
• Microstation or AutoCAD experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bridge inspection experience, especially with technical writing for reports, is a plus.
• Exposure to structural analysis programs (e.g.: STAAD, LEAP Bridge, LEAP Concrete, AASHTOWare, BrR, BRASS, SAP/CSI, etc.) is a plus!
• Exposure to modeling tools, especially BrIM or BIM work processes, is a plus.
• GIS experience a plus.
• Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
• Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to collaborate with our team while demonstrating a self-motivated demeanor and effective multi-tasking skills.
• Proven ability to learn and apply new skills while simultaneously seeking / seizing opportunities to improve work products.
• Willingness to interact in the Engineering community at large via membership in relevant professional societies.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

TARGET SALARY RANGE:

$60K - $70K (per year)
