Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Bridge and Civil Structures Engineer in New York to design and inspect bridges, stations and other civil structures. You will perform preliminary and detailed design, rehabilitation work, and prepare formal calculation packages using industry-standard software.

The role targets graduates with a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, coursework in structural analysis and advanced design, plus a strong initiative and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design and advanced reinforced concrete design.
• Interest in the design of bridges, stations and other civil structures; sustainable design.
• Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.

Responsibilities

• Preliminary and detailed design of new bridges, stations and other civil structures.
• Preliminary and detailed rehabilitation design of existing bridges, stations and other civil structures.
• Inspection of existing bridges, stations and other civil structures and preparation of reports.
• Analysis and design of structural systems and components using industry standard structural design software and preparation of formal design calculation packages.
