Job summary

Arup in New York is seeking a Graduate Bridge and Civil Structures Engineer who will work on preliminary and detailed design of bridges, stations and other civil structures, including rehabilitation design and structural analysis using industry standard software.

We value a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, a proactive mindset, strong communication, and interest in sustainable design; internship experience and FE/EIT are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design and advanced reinforced concrete design.
• Interest in the design of bridges, stations and other civil structures; sustainable design.
• Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.

Responsibilities

• Preliminary and detailed design of new bridges, stations and other civil structures.
• Preliminary and detailed rehabilitation design of existing bridges, stations and other civil structures.
• Inspection of existing bridges, stations and other civil structures and preparation of reports.

The opportunity

• Preliminary and detailed design of new bridges, stations and other civil structures
• Preliminary and detailed rehabilitation design of existing bridges, stations and other civil structures
• Inspection of existing bridges, stations and other civil structures and preparation of reports
• Analysis and design of structural systems and components using industry standard structural design software and preparation of formal design calculation packages

New York Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $79,500 to $86,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
