Job summary

Alvernia University in Reading, PA is seeking a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Physical Therapy to support administrative tasks related to service learning experiences, clinical education, and department operations.

The GA will work under the PT Department Chair, Program Director, and DCE to handle scheduling, correspondence, record keeping, and event coordination, while promoting the university's mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree earned and current full-time enrollment in the DPT program.
• Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Assist the PT Department Chair, Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, PT faculty, and PT Administrative Assistant in daily tasks.
• Assist with special projects and assignments for the department.
• Compose correspondence, answer inquiries, set up appointments, organize and schedule meetings, order office and lab supplies.
• Provide support to PT faculty with administrative aspects of teaching not related to student grading, advising, or learning assessment.
• Assist faculty in the instruction of laboratory sessions.
• Assist with department events and projects, including university and community events.
• Support and communicate with the Director of Clinical Education on clinical education documents and site relations.
• Help maintain the pro bono center and service-learning activities across settings.
