The Global Initiatives and Alumni Relations (GIAR) unit at the University of Texas at Austin seeks a Senior Student Associate to support a university-wide global mapping initiative and assist with inbound and outbound delegations.

The role focuses on data collection, organization, and reporting for UT Austin’s central global engagement portal, with exposure to international higher education and campus partnerships.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UT Austin graduate student enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours during fall and spring semesters and available to work 20 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 8 am–5 pm).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Team player with strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Extensive planning and organization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and know when to seek guidance.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and curiosity for researching additional lines of inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive data analysis of international activities across CSUs.
• Collect data from multiple sources, university offices, and faculty pages.
• Clean and standardize data for the database and ensure accuracy.
• Keep detailed documentation and meticulously organized records of findings.
• Assist in coordinating inbound or outbound delegations and escorting visitors on campus.
• Format findings for easy retrieval and searchability and propose solutions to data challenges.
• Support data visualization and routine progress reports across projects.
