Cedar Crest College seeks a Graduate Assistant to support ACT 101 program students through program administration, materials, and academic skills facilitation for Cedar Crest College. The role offers hands-on experience in higher education administration and equity-centered student support.

Graduate Assistant- ACT 101# Graduate Assistant- ACT 101## OverviewPosition TypePart TimeEducation Level4 Year DegreeCategoryGraduate Assistant## DescriptionThe Graduate Assistant supports the academic success, persistence, and basic needs of Cedar Crest College students enrolled in the ACT101 program through program support, resource navigation, and academic skills facilitation. This position offers hands-on experience in higher education administration and equity-centered student support.**Program Development & Administration*** Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating ACT 101 program initiatives and student support services.* Support creation and updating of program materials including intake forms, resource guides, and outreach communications.* Assist with data collection and tracking related to student participation, academic progress, and program outcomes.* Participate in program planning meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.**Relationship Building & Community Engagement*** Build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, campus departments, and community partners.* Serve as a visible, approachable point of contact for ACT 101 students, fostering a welcoming environment.* Support outreach efforts to connect underserved student populations with available campus and community resources.**Resource Research & Opportunity Identification*** Research and identify scholarships and developmental opportunities for ACT 101 students.* Stay informed about campus resources, benefits programs (e.g., Single Stop), and community services relevant to student basic needs.* Assist students in navigating benefits systems and connecting with financial, food, housing, and wellness resources.**Academic Support & Study Skills Facilitation*** Facilitate individual and group study skills sessions on time management, note-taking, test preparation, and academic planning.* Assist in developing and delivering workshops and programming to promote academic engagement and student success.* Maintain session notes and track student attendance and progress in academic support activities.The Graduate Assistant would work 15-20 hours per week, to be scheduled in conjunction with the Director of Persistence Support Resources. The Graduate Assistant will receive 6 credits each semester (Fall and Spring) towards their classes and a stipend of $4,000 each semester paid through the ACT 101 budget.## Qualifications**Required:** Enrollment in a Cedar Crest graduate program; strong commitment to student success, equity, and access; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work with diverse populations communication, record-keeping, problem-solving; demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. The graduate student will also be trained to participate in advising to students in terms of improving study skills, meeting deadlines.**Preferred:** Prior experience in tutoring, advising, or student support; familiarity with ACT 101 programs; experience with basic needs support or workshop facilitation; proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information systems.
