Job summary

Civil Works Contracting is seeking a Grade Foreman to supervise grading crews and coordinate earthmoving for roads and infrastructure. You will manage equipment use, read blueprints, enforce safety, and liaise with project managers to meet specs and schedules.

Responsibilities emphasize scheduling, reporting, and keeping daily records while promoting OSHA compliance and team development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of grading/site construction experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations (OSHA).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise grading crews and assign tasks based on project requirements and skill sets.
• Coordinate the use of equipment including bulldozers, graders, scrapers, and compactors.
• Inspect project sites and completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Monitor progress and productivity, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet project deadlines.
• Support project managers with scheduling, reporting, and resource management.
• Maintain records of daily site activities and personnel attendance.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure crew adherence to OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Assist with training and onboarding new crew members.
• Communicate regularly with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
