An established industry player in the construction sector is seeking a Project Superintendent-Grading to oversee multiple projects in the Durham area. This role involves managing labor and equipment, scheduling subcontractors, and ensuring safety compliance while leading a team. GENERAL SUMMARY
The Project Superintendent-Grading manages multiple construction projects, coordinates labor and equipment to construct projects, schedules subcontractors and material suppliers, manages and supervises employees on assigned projects, tracks and reports materials, and schedules, coordinates, and communicates with customers and internal employees. The incumbent supervises, manages, and directs the selection, training, development, and appraisal of its own employees. Knowledge of grading equipment is necessary. The individual will practice absolute confidentiality. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks as assigned. Normal work hours are day or night shift, eight (8) to fourteen (14) hour days Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be required depending on the contract. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and tasks to be performed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent in a related field from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Five (5) or more years of related experience required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current North Carolina Driver’s License required
- Storm water certification and traffic control certification preferred
