Job summary

Memphis Goodwill Industries Inc. is seeking a GRADER/SORTER for Carriage Crossing GGC in Collierville, TN. The role involves sorting apparel into categories, assessing quality, and preparing items for display on the sales floor.

You will ensure labeling and sizing accuracy while maintaining a clean, organized sort area. Hourly position with adherence to safety procedures and store policies. The job supports daily production goals and requires awareness of brand names and pricing to grade items

Responsibilities

• Stays abreast of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories.
• Tags and sizes apparel; hangs on racks and transports to sales floor.
• Performs quality checks for tears, stains, odors, and damaged garments.
• Recognizes brand names, understands pricing, and grades garment quality.
• Meets daily production goals (4 Dandux/Tallboys) per day.
• Keeps sorting area neat and clean.
• Follows policies; reports hazards and injuries to Team Leader Coach or ATL.
• Checks CPSC recall bulletins to remove unsafe items.
• Operates equipment safely; push, not pull, and avoid overfilling.
• Assists with floor running, apparel rotation, and dressing room cleaning.
• Performs duties in alignment with Guiding Principles.
• Attends training sessions as assigned by Team Leader Coach.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader Coach.

Salary Range: $12.50 To $12.50 Hourly

• Stays abreast of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories. Place all salable apparel in the hang area of the sort table, tag and/or size apparel, hang apparel onto racks and transport racks of hung apparel to sales floor.
• Provides quality assurance by checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, missing buttons.
• Recognize apparel brand names, knowledgeable on pricing, and grade quality of apparel.
• Achieves and exceeding the MGI production goals of (4) Dandux/Tallboys each day.
• Maintains sorting and processing area in a neat and clean condition at all times.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures; follow good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Team Leader Coach or ATL.
• Reviews and utilizes current Consumer Product Safety Commission recall bulletins to prevent unsafe items from being sold in the store.
• Handles equipment and follow safety procedures when moving equipment: push, not pull and never overfill equipment.
• May assists with floor running, apparel rotation, cleaning dressing rooms as needed.
• Responsible for performing assigned duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles.
• Attends in-service related training as assigned by Team Leader Coach.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Leader Coach.
