Job summary

Rummel Construction, Inc is seeking a Construction Grade Checker in the Phoenix Metro Area. You will be responsible for setting grade stakes to guide earthmoving equipment, observing and controlling excavation activities, and communicating with operators.

The ideal candidate has over 1 year of experience in grade checking and familiarity with heavy equipment. This position supports projects throughout Arizona and may involve out-of-state travel. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience performing grade checking.
• Experience with heavy equipment and use of measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Knowledge of marking and reading survey stakes to determine grade specifications.
• Ability to observe, direct, and control equipment excavating activities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with Trimble GPS Rover System is a plus.

Location: PHOENIX METRO AREA

• Set grade stakes to guide earth moving equipment operators in cut & fill, sloping, excavation, and backfilling work at residential, commercial, heavy civil, highway, and energy sites.
• Observe, direct, and control equipment excavating activities to conform to stake references.
• Communicate with equipment operators, supervision, and management.
• Support projects throughout Arizona and may require out-of-state travel.
