Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking licensed teachers to design, plan, and deliver standards-aligned lessons that meet diverse learning needs. You will foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom culture, communicate with families, and use assessments to inform instruction.

A Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification for most teaching positions; if hired without a program, you have up to three years to obtain Hawaii licensure and must pursue ongoing licensing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification to apply for teacher positions in Hawaii (except designated CTE roles).
• Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit required within 3 years of hire.
• Enrolling in a program to pursue licensure is expected; HTSB guidelines apply.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans.
• Establish positive, safe, inclusive classroom culture.
• Assess and monitor student learning with formative and summative assessments.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about progress.
• Incorporate educational technology to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and school leadership.
