Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is hiring qualified teachers in Hawaii. A Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification for most teaching, librarian or counselor roles, with the exception of designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions.

If hired without completing a Teacher Education Program, you have up to 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license. You must enroll in a program to continue employment, and throughout each year you must actively pursue licensing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification for most teaching, librarian or counselor positions (CTE exceptions).
• Active pursuit toward meeting Hawaii licensing requirements is expected during employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with Hawaii licensing requirements as mandated by HTSB.
• Pursue licensure through the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board to ensure continued employment.
