Job summary

The Learning Community in Central Falls, Rhode Island seeks a Grade 6 paraprofessional to support classroom and small group instruction, with a strong emphasis on literacy, SEL, and student engagement.

This full-time, on-site role offers a starting hourly rate of $19.25, with comprehensive benefits including medical, retirement, life insurance, and paid time off. Collaboration with teachers, families, and school leaders is central to this position.

Qualifications

• Strong relationship-building and academic engagement with K-8 students.
• Deep knowledge of de-escalation and behavioral support.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and small group support to middle grades and/or elementary students.
• Support student success in routines, academics, and SEL activities.
• Collaborate with team to collect, track, and review data to improve instruction.
• Assist with implementing crisis management/restraint techniques and communicate progress.
• Build relationships with families through updates and responsive communication.
• Attend feedback meetings with coaches and leaders and act on input.
• Perform other duties to support student success (up to 5%).
• Coordinate with general education and special education staff as needed.
