Qualifications

• Massachusetts DESE licensure in Elementary Education (Grades 1–6) or Middle School Science (Grades 5–8) or eligible for licensure.
• Strong science content knowledge and enthusiasm for scientific inquiry.
• Experience teaching in diverse settings, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs.
• Familiarity with NGSS and building coherent science progressions.
• Track record of meaningful student growth.
• Experience with project‑based, inquiry‑based, or EL Education instructional models.
• Comfort using assessment data to drive instructional decisions and communicate progress.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous daily science instruction for Grades 5 and 6, grounded in NGSS.
• Design units that build scientific thinking and evidence-based argumentation.
• Leverage partnerships with Old Sturbridge Village to anchor learning in real-world inquiry.
• Differentiate instruction for English Learners and students with IEPs.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues to plan curriculum and solve problems.
• Engage in advisory, community-building, and school-wide events.
