Job summary

The Central Falls School District seeks a certified ESL Teacher for Grade 4 at Raices Dual Language Academy on the English side for the 2026-2027 school year. The role operates within a 50/50 model with the Spanish-side teacher, delivering language arts, math, science, and social studies across both languages.

Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, family communication, and fostering an equity-driven bilingual learning environment aligned with RI standards.

Qualifications

• Valid RI Certificate in Elementary Education 1-6 is required.
• Valid RI Certification in ESL 1-6 required or must complete within three years.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred for effective dual-language instruction.
• Experience teaching ELLs or multilingual students is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Position is part of a two-person team in a 50/50 model, English-side teacher for Grade 4 Dual Language.
• Collaborate with Spanish-side Dual Language teacher to coordinate curriculum implementation.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with Dual Language program and standards.
• Implement comprehensive early childhood curriculum and assessment aligned with RI standards (RIELDs).
• Deliver instruction aligned with Common Core and embed WIDA Essentials where appropriate.
• Provide intervention and scaffolding for language and content domains.
• Create language and content objectives and ensure access to grade-level content.
• Incorporate students' backgrounds and cultures to enhance learning and connections.
• Use district curricula and materials to support Dual Language instruction.
• Assess progress, maintain records, monitor progress, and report as required.
• Regularly communicate with families about student performance and attendance.
• Foster a positive, engaging learning environment for all students.
• Accommodate and modify instruction for ELLs and diverse learners.
• Collaborate on curriculum and instructional practices with colleagues.
• Demonstrate continuous professional growth and reflect on teaching effectiveness.
• Participate in district equity and excellence initiatives for English learners.
