Responsibilities

• Teaches all subject areas utilizing the course of study adopted by the School Committee.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small-group instruction to adapt curriculum to each pupil.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for a productive learning environment.
• Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps records, and prepares progress reports.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil progress.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to address health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Creates an effective learning environment with displays, bulletin boards, and centers.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service activities provided by the district.
