Job summary

Morris School District in Hillcrest seeks an Elementary School Teacher to deliver developmentally appropriate instruction across elementary grades. The position requires a valid New Jersey Instruction Certificate with Subject Area Endorsement and a commitment to inclusive, equitable education and collaboration with staff and families.

The teacher will plan daily and weekly lessons, participate in PLCs, integrate technology, monitor progress, and provide differentiated support.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Instruction Certificate with Subject Area Endorsement.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate inclusive relationships with students, faculty, staff and community.
• Support belonging and academic success for all, including marginalized learners.
• Foster social and emotional learning through classroom management and discussion/teaching.
• Teach assigned content (general or specialists).
• Prepare daily instruction and weekly lesson plans per Morris School District programs and policies.
• Collaborate with a professional learning community to reflect and improve teaching and learning.
• Integrate technology and interactive elements into instruction.
• Utilize district data sources to analyze student progress and differentiate instruction.
• Build relationships with parents to update on progress and learning style.
• Prepare assignments and projects aligned with district policy and standards.
• Grade and provide constructive feedback to help students reach learning goals.
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress including academic growth and behavior.
• Maintain student paperwork and files as needed.
• Meet district goals and participate in professional development.
• Contract Terms: 184 days/year.
