Randolph Public School District’s John F. Kennedy School in Randolph, Massachusetts is seeking a Grade 1 classroom teacher to deliver standards-based instruction and monitor student progress within the district curriculum.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Teacher License in PreK-2 or Elementary 1-6
• Experience working in a diverse and/or multi-cultural setting
• Master degree preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
• Maintain classroom management
• Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement
• Plan and deliver effective instruction
• Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Elementary Teachers, including: Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, to students, utilizing the district’s course of study and other appropriate learning activities
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
• Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, and discovery
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems
• Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate for grade level
• Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing program
• Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
• Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal

Education

Massachusetts Teacher License in PreK-2 or Elementary 1-6
