Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Technical Program Manager for GPT Infrastructure to lead delivery of external compute capacity powering model workloads. You will own cross-functional programs with engineering, capacity planning, networking, hardware, finance, product, and partners to ensure deployed capacity translates into production throughput.

You will drive readiness across compute, storage, networking, and security, coordinating with internal teams and external providers to accelerate token generation

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Technical/Engineering PM or Infrastructure Delivery.
• Experience leading large-scale technical programs across cloud, data center, networking, hardware, or distributed systems.
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional execution with engineering, operations, finance, and external vendors.
• Experience communicating complex tradeoffs to executive stakeholders clearly.
• Strong analytical skills on utilization, throughput, capacity, and operational metrics.
• Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.
• Experience with external providers or hyperscalers is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end programs converting external capacity into production-ready token supply.
• Own readiness across compute, storage, networking, security, and operational dependencies for third-party environments.
• Build integrated plans with milestones, owners, risks, and critical paths.
• Drive launch execution for new partner regions, clusters, and capacity expansions.
• Create mechanisms to measure capacity vs. token output.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive resolution across teams and partners.
• Coordinate with capacity planning and finance to prioritize ROI opportunities.
• Establish executive-level reporting on delivery status and ramp forecasts.
• Improve onboarding and scaling motions for partners and tech stacks.
• Manage escalations across stakeholders during high-severity delivery issues.
• Translate constraints into clear execution plans.
• Help define Token-as-a-Service operating model across ecosystems.
