Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking a GPS Machine Control General Foreman for a utility-scale solar construction site in Texas. You will oversee GPS-equipped pile drivers and the crew, setting up and calibrating Trimble Groundworks, and ensuring accurate pile placement to project plans.

You will troubleshoot machine-control issues, support operators, and coordinate with survey and quality teams to maintain safety and production standards on outdoor, heavy-construction work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GPS machine-control systems.
• Experience with Trimble GPS technology and Groundworks.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine-positioning and installation guidance.
• Strong leadership of field crews.
• Comfort working outdoors in active heavy-construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew supporting GPS-equipped pile drivers and installation, with earthmoving support as needed.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Trimble Groundworks on pile-driving equipment.
• Verify pile plans, coordinates, and elevations before production begins.
• Confirm pile IDs, design coordinates, and orientations match approved plans and machine settings.
• Perform calibration checks of antenna offsets, mast alignment, and sensors.
• Coordinate with survey and quality teams to verify tolerances and embedment requirements.
• Identify and escalate incorrect files or out-of-tolerance conditions; suspend affected GPS work if needed.
• Perform minor GPS repairs or component replacements and provide operator guidance.
• Lead daily planning, safety meetings, and communicate progress to site leadership.
