Job summary

Tucker Paving, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Florida team in Winter Haven. The role involves operating front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, GPS-equipped equipment, and backhoes on active construction sites.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of heavy equipment experience, read simple instructions, and possess a valid driver’s license. OSHA 30 is preferred but not required. Site level and laser tooling proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate GPS machine-controlled systems on heavy equipment where applicable.
• Comply with Tucker Paving rules, policies, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain safety and wear PPE at all times.
• Report safety violations to Foreman or safety team.
• Plan work schedules with Foreman and allocate equipment/materials.
• Attend training classes and seminars.
• Ensure crew safety and public safety around job sites.
• Train new crew members and promote teamwork.
• Respond to OSHA inspections or site crises appropriately.
• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, dozers, excavators, backhoes, graders, and more.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and daily reports.
