Job summary

DNT Construction, LLC is seeking a Construction Grade Checker to interpret plans and specs, lay out crews, and direct cut/fill operations on site in Houston, TX. You will establish grade with stakes, hubs, and laser/elevation devices, and coordinate GPS setup while ensuring adherence to OSHA safety policies.

The role requires experience with measuring tools, marking stakes, and communicating with operators and supervision. Overtime and weekend hours are common; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Training in marking and reading survey stakes to determine grade specifications.
• Ability to observe, direct and control equipment excavating activities to conform to stake references and communicate with operators.

Responsibilities

• Understand plans and specs and lay out crew and project.
• Provide clear direction for cut/fill, set hubs and stakes, calculate percentages, volumes, areas and production rates.
• Accurately set grade and operate sloping laser; shoot in elevations; set up and operate GPS; comply with OSHA and safety policies.
• Contribute to meeting project schedules.
