Job summary

CME Associates, Inc. seeks a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Technician to locate and map underground utilities and support safe excavation. You’ll use GPR tech and electromagnetic locating equipment under supervision of a Licensed Engineer. Independent and collaborative work styles are valued.

The role requires strong technical skills, knowledge of utility systems, and the ability to produce reports and maps from data collected in the field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical certification in utility locating and GPR.
• Prefer bachelor’s or associate degree in geology, civil engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mark underground utilities using electromagnetic locating equipment.
• Operate GPR to detect and map subsurface structures and anomalies.
• Review data from locate and GPR systems, creating maps and reports.
• Conduct field surveys to verify utility locations and site conditions.
• Maintain records of utility locations, GPR data, and observations.
• Adhere to safety protocols on job sites.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
• Perform maintenance and calibration of locating and GPR equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support projects.
