Job summary

Septerna, a biotechnology company based in South San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Scientist/Research Scientist, Molecular Pharmacology on a 12-month contract to advance GPCR-targeted drug discovery.

You will develop and optimize plate-based displacement binding and PPI assays for purified GPCRs, cellular membranes, or overexpressed proteins, collaborating with Discovery Biology to drive project milestones through quantitative data analysis and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• BS with 10+ years of hands-on in vitro pharmacology in biotech/pharma or PhD in related field.
• Experience in plate-based quantitative protein-protein interaction (PPI) assays for GPCRs or membrane-protein systems.
• Experienced with complex data analysis and curve fitting using GraphPad Prism.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prosecute novel plate-based displacement binding assays.
• Collaborate with Discovery Biology to advance the science.
• Maintain Laboratory notebooks and data analysis/documentation.
