Job summary

New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) is seeking a Financial Supervisor to lead the Program Support Division’s fiscal activities. The role oversees journals, payroll, budgeting, purchasing, and contract processes, ensuring compliance with state laws and agency policies.

The ideal candidate provides strong leadership, analytical thinking, and expert knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting to support executive leadership and staff

Qualifications

• Experience in governmental fiscal management, purchasing, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage journal entries, payroll reconciliations, and maintain financial records.
• Monitor budget for the Program Support Division and prepare reports/analyses.
• Oversee purchasing and payment activities, create purchase orders and track balances.
• Coordinate contract development, planning and approvals; oversee year-end closing.
• Lead special projects with dashboards, data analysis, and performance metrics.
